Summary of "Strategic Content Publishing

Mar 13, 2008 at 02:34 PM by Salim Ismail

Content is being seen as a cost center (or at best cost-recovery)...

Audience poll: is content strategic in your org? (answer is very much 'yes')

Interesting question: "is content driving revenue in your org?.. if not, how can it be that strategic??!"

How to measure content inside an org? Great example given of someone who turned off a revenue earning photo and everyone screamed... : )

Big discussion now ensues about what exactly do we mean by "Strategic Content Publishing"
1 - the content is used for revenue
2 - the content is leveraged for strategic purposes
3 - the content should be structured so that it *can* be used strategically

Examples of strategic content:
- product documentation
- process information

Whoa. At this point, we've run out of time. But a fabulous discussion that we could spend a day on... !
